Justice Versus Revenge
I truly regret some of the things that come out of my mouth, especially when I feel affronted by people who are malicious in their intentions. The filters fail and the anger lashes out. I have never felt the desire to hurt someone else, this is contrary to my nature. This is why it is easy for malented people to work their cons and live their survival of the fittest and justify their actions. It is easier to raid and pillage than to do the hard work. Cheaters at tests....
Truth be told, I lost most of my childhood fights because of this. The exception was one kid I really "clocked." Surprised the hell out of him! I felt so much guilt for hurting him, even though he provoked the altercation. As with almost all of my fights, my nemeses became good friends. My first major fight over a tricycle, a boy older and bigger, punched me in the stomach, knocked the wind out of me and consequently became a lifelong friend.
Revenge is about hurting someone else because you have been hurt. That is all objectivity disappearing and wanting the world to feel your pain. However, we must not ignore those who wrong others. But, understand this, justice is not about making the victim feel better, though this may happen, justice is about demanding a civil world in which to exist. To send a message that it is wrong to hurt others, for what ever reason. I would even go one step further and suggest that we all must stand up for justice. For injustice never sleeps and if we don't fight back, our world falls into incivility. Evil prevails when people of good conscience turn a blind eye.
